Karla C. Garza, Ph.D., CCC-SLP is an Assistant Professor at the Woolfolk School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Our Lady of the Lake University. She earned her B.S in Communication Disorders from Texas A&M International University, her M.A. in Communication and Learning Disorders from Our Lady of the Lake University, and her Ph.D. in Culture, Literacy, and Language from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Dr. Garza started her professional career in the schools where she provided services to students in the primary grades and bilingual/bicultural learners. Dr. Garza has previous experience supervising SLP-Assistants and graduate students. She has presented at local, state, and national conferences. Her research interests include the intersectionality of child language development and bicultural/bilingual issues.
